About Carolyne

Carolyne Culver is a Green Party councillor and chairman of Scrutiny Commission at West Berkshire Council. She represents Ridgeway ward, which covers the Ilsleys, Compton, Hampstead Norreys, Frilsham and Yattendon. She was first elected in 2019, and re-elected with an increased majority in 2023.

Carolyne has worked at the University of Oxford, Save the Children, War on Want and the local Wildlife Trust. She has also worked as an A Level teacher, an associate lecturer and a journalist.   • Fully fund the NHS and protect it from privatisation.
  • Invest in green jobs, renewable energy and home insulation – to boost the economy and reduce the cost of living.
  • Return the water companies to public ownership, improve infrastructure, and put an end to sewage in our rivers.
  • Incentivise a programme of building social homes for rent, to reduce housing waiting lists.
  • Restore the natural world and reverse the decline in biodiversity.
